Fred Taylor ran for 117 yards and two touchdowns in the Jaguars’ winning effort for this issue’s Madden Extra Game. In an effort to predict the outcome of Sunday’s NFL match-up between the Seattle Seahawks and the Jacksonville Jaguars, staff writer David Martin and editor Declan Saver went head-to-head in the brand new Madden 2006 video game for Play Station 2.
Jacksonville never left a doubt in anyone’s mind as to the outcome of their home opener. The Jags’ swarming defense held the Seahawks to only 143 yards of total offense and Fred Taylor confounded the Seattle defense, accounting for over half of the Jaguars’ total offense, including a 38-yard touchdown scamper.
The Seahawks never had the ball in the redzone and the third quarter safety recorded by Mike Peterson’s sack of Hasselbeck pretty much ended any hope of a Seahawk comeback. The Safety brought the score to 15 – 3 and was followed by a fourth quarter touchdown by Taylor.
The Seahawk offense turned the ball over 3 times and Hasselbeck threw a career low in passer rating with a 25.
The Seahawks scored first with a field goal off of an interception but didn’t score again for the other three and half quarters.
