Dan and Serena broke up. Front page news, I know. But really it’s about time, he was getting whiny and she was still really rich and apparently they simply could not reconcile their “differences,” to which they frequently alluded but never really illuminated. I think it was because she was rich and he was annoying, but I couldn’t really tell. They were very sad, there was sad music playing, etc., etc. Anyhow, the previews look promising, because the whole “Serena in love and as a good person” thing was getting old.
The air conditioning works, which is good news. I don’t know how we could have made it through the winter without it. We may be getting heat as well, although I have to say I’ll miss the old fire-hazard, burn-hazard radiators that lined the hallways beneath the “caution: hot” signs. Anyhow, it’s cold! I like the cold.
Trash disposal appears to be a major concern in the new building, strictly enforced by the plastic-bag-bearing new veep who haunts the third floor after 12:15. Make it past her and your Subway is safe; otherwise, it’s in more danger than a moose trapped in front of Sarah Palin!! (Because she likes to hunt, she wears lipstick, she is super badass, she is one hundred percent qualified to be the next president of the United States…)
Quincy Jones is really famous and he came to our school and several people got to touch him. In addition to all the valuable “Quincy Jones Trivia” I learned throughout the week preceding his honorary assembly, I discovered that he does not like the president and also that he has done lots of really cool things and is even famouser than I thought. I also noticed that he has really adorable feet. Did anyone else notice that?? Every time he lifted his arms you could see his tiny little old man shoes and it just killed me. He looked just like one of those animated characters from an old cartoon, The Wind in the Willows or something like that, with his suit and those little shoes…I wish I could just take him home and have him be my grandpa.
Cool things I have found out about Garfield: We have a greenhouse, apparently, and it will have plants in it and everything. I don’t know where it is. Also I heard there is a recording studio somewhere, possibly in the orchestra room. That’s it, really. Maybe there is more that I don’t know, I still get lost on my way to third period pretty much every day and I just learned where the library is so I’m probably not the expert.
Oh and: Halloween is coming up!!!! I love Halloween!!!!
