The secrets of Bluegrass Club are revealed

On Mondays, the lucky inhabitants of Mr. Spangenberg’s science room witness a truly beautiful event. Three young schoolboys from the class of 2011 have traded in noisy hallways and clamoring bodies for a haven of sweet melodies, creating what they call the “Bluegrass Club.”
Bluegrass Club started as the bright colors of fall dimmed for winter. Skylar Lindsay, Luke Evans, and Pablo Melcher-Ordonez decided to get together at lunch and have some fun with their guitars.
“It was Skylar and Luke’s idea,” said Melcher-Ordonez. “We began to meet up on random days to play guitar and hang out.”
Unfortunately, the club has not been widely publicized, and the number of new affiliates has been meager. In fact, it is fair to say that the members and creators of the club are one and the same.
“Luke Evans and I are trying to figure out how this could actually work,” said Lindsay. “It might really start up next monthish or so.”
Once the club becomes official and successful, meetings will probably be held in the piano room.
“Other people are welcome to just show up and play,” said Melcher-Ordonez. “It’s really low-key. We also want to switch up the instruments. Skylar can play the banjo and we’re looking for a bassoonist.”
The newly formed club opens its arms to any new members from novice to expert. Sanyo Band credentials are not crucial here.
“Unfortunately, there are no big dreams for Bluegrass Club,” admitted Melcher-Ordonez. “It’s kind of hard to play because we are all on different skill levels.”
However, a number of potential gigs are on the horizon.
A split may occur in the near future; Melcher-Ordonez, man of mystery, seems to be taking matters into his own hands.
“I have BIG hopes and dreams for my guitar duo,” said Melcher-Ordonez with an inexplicable giggle. “Also, for my string quartet.”
