A trip to the casino doesn’t prove very lucrative

    By Hannah Zieve

In my fantasies it looked like this: I was all dressed up in a little black dress and sparkling diamond jewelry with a handsome young date on my arm. We’d stroll through some swanky Vegas casino like the Bellagio, sipping martinis and casually placing bets. I’d stand by his side as he won high-stakes poker games and at the end of the night we’d be picked up in a Rolls-Royce, thousands of dollars richer.

Over the years, the use and purpose of automotive vehicles has changed immensely. When the first car was conceived, it was created to merely make travel from one place to another easier. Since then, cars have gone from being made for durability, speed or muscle, to environmentally safe standards. With eco-friendly vehicles being all the rage, Nissan has created their own variation of the electric car at an amazing price.

  • Honesty Box For Teachers

ratemyteacher.com is a place of praise, insults and outlandish reviews

    By Andy Boelter

Venting is a normal way to alleviate stress; it’s the subject of a number of Coors Light commercials (“Hey honey, I’m gonna go vent with my buddies”) and it is the first thing teenage girls turn to after getting blown off. We pour our hearts out to people, not in the hope that it will help the situation, but rather that it will help our frustration. In school, teachers demand strict adherance to the laws they’ve established. We can't talk back to them, we can't swear at them, and somehow we’re not even allowed to call them by their first names.

    Check your six, Dicaprio

    By Jonathan Frankel

It’s not uncommon for me to find myself in need of something to do on a Friday night. Though I’ve been known to attend a few parties here and there, and can admit that fleeing the scene of a keg on foot and approaching speeds of 45 mph gives me a rush, I always find myself intellectually horny. It was because of this lust for a more refined Friday evening schedule that I decided to take some sort of class or workshop.

Sophmores improve the world with baked goods

    By Georgia Ray

Today, in rural areas around the world, thousands of children have been sold into marriage. Dragged off as young as six, kicking and screaming, and wedded to men thirty years their senior. Many will bear children at the age of 12, and most will die young. Unless sophomore Mahie Solomon has anything to say about it. This year, she founded the club SEA BEEs, which stands for Saving Every Adolescent Bride, Educating, and Empowering. The club meets every Thursday and raises money to give to charities which will improve the lives of child brides.

James* felt only mild anxiety as he waited patiently for his class to end. Somewhere close, his customer was waiting. James had been selling drugs for two years. He jolted up, however, as the door to the hall opened and a police officer approached him. With but a few words, the officer handcuffed James and escorted him firmly out of the room. James hung his head. He knew what was coming.
